New year, new project. We're flying out of Japan in the GIV right now. Studying the strong jetstream that blows the weather off the asian coast straight for the U.S. We've done 2 flights so far and all has gone well.
The country is beautiful..even in winter. The immaculately kept gardens are inspirational. It's amazing how the smallest of spaces still give way to the best looking shrubbery, flowers, and plants I've ever seen. The people are friendly and always willing to help if you need it. And my tea collection has grown to include some new teas I've never seen or smelled before. Very aromatic teas like chocolate mint, cookies, Miss Jasmine, Lavendar, Rum & coconut, and a few others. It's been a fun challenge to wander around and get lost. Their subway system here is pretty easy to get around. Just make sure you know where it is you want to end up and you'll get there. It's funny, amongst all the Japanese here I've met quite a few Americans and even a guy from New Zealand. They're always looking for someone to talk to since they usually don't speak very good Japanese. I even helped an Army guy find the place his wife had moved to when he was sent here for duty. He was going to give up b/c he couldn't find it, but I told him the worse that could happen is that he would get lost and learn somewhere that his wife wasn't staying. In the end the 2 places we were headed to took the same series of trains. So we stuck together and both found where we were going.
I'm here till the 28th of January. Then I'm off to Alaska for the month of February and then Hawaii for the month of March. It's a busy start to a new year.
Sayounara!
