Happy New Years!!!

I had a Great New Years Eve!

I went to a comedy show featuring the ventriloquist Jeff Dunham. He's hilarious on his show, but to see him in action last night was So Great. I laughed so hard my back hurt because I couldn't stop laughing.

I'll tell you what made me laugh so hard. I got to the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center early to wait for the show to start...unfortunately it didn't help me get a better parking spot but oh well... While I was in my seat watching the others fill in the seats (it was a completely sold out show) I started to notice a trend. The majority of people that filed into the auditorium fit the description of your neighbor if you lived in a trailer park. I'm Not kidding. They came from trailer parks everywhere. So my thought was, "If Jeff brings out the puppet Bubba J this crowd is going to Flip!" Bubba J is described as White Trash Trailer park and is a Nascar lovin' beer chuggin redneck.

So the show started and Jeff went through his act and it was great to watch and laugh. And he ended his show, went off stage, but then came back for an encore. He had about another 15 mins to work with. And he warned us at the beginning of the encore section that he was bringing out a puppet he hadn't been working with in a while and that he had forgotten a lot of the jokes from the routine. So he pulled out a piece of paper and said that this part was not the part that we had paid to see and that we would just have to bare with him while he brought out... Bubba J! And as on que the audience went crazy.

And Jeff started his act and had to reference his paper while he made jokes both about himself and other things. He had only gotten a few of his punch lines out when he turned to Bubba J and asked him, "Bubba do you hear what I hear?" and Bubba replies back, "Yeah, it sounds like the audience is helping you out with your lines so as you don't forget." And Jeff laughed at that and was like, "Well, Let's let them." And didn't say any more about it, but continued. This is where I started to laugh so hard that it hurt. The Audience started to more loudly help him deliver his punch lines. And Jeff was Totally not expecting that. He Started laughing about the whole thing saying how Nobody was going to believe any of this and so on. One of the funniest comments he made was just after one of the louder punch lines given by the audience and Bubba said, "It's like 10,000 voices all in my head!" I had a great time that I won't soon forget.

To see Bubba J's act I linked the you tube version of it above.
