New Blog!

I've been mulling over creating a blog for quite some time now...Well, Here it is at it's home:
http://herricanehunter.blogspot.com/

A little history on the name for those wondering why I mis-spelled the word Hurricane:
So many years ago that I don't remember the age, I belonged to a girls softball team called the "Herricanes." Lucky number 13 I was on that team ^_~ ...coincidently, that might have been how old I was...^_^

Now fast forward through time to the year 2007 and I get a job as a NOAA Hurricane Hunter. Unpacking my belongings as I move into my first very own house all to myself I find my old softball t-shirt. I believe in divine providence and it occurs to me that I am Meant to be here.
So Herricane Hunter it is.

Purpose of this blog:
To keep family and friends informed about what I'm up to these days. I think it will be easier for me to update my blog and send out an e-mail to everyone to visit my site rather than trying to type a lengthy letter to everyone and having to personalize it for the different circles of friends that I have...Which I haven't been doing lately because it's just a pain in the butt to do. Hence why I think that some of my friends don't even know I've left the research ship I was workin on...hehe. Gomen Nasai!!!

Oh, and the cool picture above:
Is the harvest moon rising as we were flying out to investigate TS Karen last week.

Investigate TS Karen??
Oh yeah, for those of my friends and family that don't know...I fly into hurricanes for a living. And consequently so does my boyfriend Justin (Hi Honey!) He's such a sweetie. And he's a USAF Reserve Hurricane Hunter. A Very cool group of people to get to know.

So, yeah that's me in a nutshell. While technically this is actually my homepage I didn't want to put a link back to the same page that you clicked on, so I made my homepage link my link to my Flickr account. Flickr is a really cool website where I can easily upload all my pictures onto the web for everyone to see. So check it out...I'll eventually get around to posting more of my hurricane pictures. But like writing lengthy e-mails it takes a long time to go through all the pictures I take and make them ready to post. So I apologize ahead of time for not updating my Flickr account in a timely fashion ^_^¡ But hey! I've picked up a lot of fun little hobbies since moving to St Pete. Especially the Line Dancing! I mean, who Wouldn't want to go out line dancing instead of posting pictures on the net???

Til' Next Time!
